Unit Polyhedron Origami: Double-Sided Concave Hexagonal Ring Solid

August 30, 2009, 15:43

Finished the ring-like structure, made from the Double-Sided Concave Hexagonal Ring Solid unit in Tomoko Fuse’s Unit Polyhedron Origami.

Well, the unit is quick and easy to make, but assembly is a little frustrating. After the first few units are put together, its difficult to slip the tab to lock the units together into the pocket without bending it. I really had problems with making the closing ring, so it ended up all wrinkled and not so pretty. Maybe using a different approach, where you first build the end rings and then connect with the column would be easier?

Anyways, I finally found my camera connection cable, which was packed away with all of my other college stuff, so I’ll be editing these entries with photos shortly!

Hi Samantha, for the instructions, you should check out the book I mentioned – Tomoko Fuse’s Unit Polyhedron Origami. Best of luck on your project!
